The Popular Caveman Diet Exposed

The Caveman Diet is a popular low carb diet that focuses on eating certain food groups and excluding others. It also goes by other popular aliases such as: The Paleolithic diet, The Stone Age diet and the Hunter Gatherer diet. This article provides information on this low carb diet and whether or not it’s worth your attention.

The interesting thing about this diet is it really only focuses on changing HOW you eat rather than the amount you consume. To put it shortly, all you do is follow a specific food pyramid the Caveman diet displays and only eating the foods from this pyramid, you will lose weight and improve your health.

This low carb diet has been around since the 1970s. It’s creator, Loraine Cordain, claimed that if you ate the way stone age people ate, you would improve your health, reduce or even eliminate your risk for heart disease, hypertension, diabetes and obesity.

How did the people in the Stone age eat? Well Loraine claims they only ate foods that did not contain starches or sugars. Foods such as fish, meat, roots, nuts and vegetables. Whereas eating foods loaded with salt, processed oils, refined sugars and even grains would cause quite the opposite.

Overall this is a great diet to try, but only in the short run. Most diets fail to mention how you gain back your weight once you stop doing it and this is no different with the Caveman diet.

Yes there are exceptions and there are cases where people incorporate the Caveman diet lifestyle and love it, but others can’t stay on it because of it’s many restrictions. This diet requires dedication and if you can’t handle it, then it’s best not to do it.
