When I was in my best shape I was always getting questions about exercise tips for abs. At the time I had a six pack so people though that made me the expert. What they didn’t realize was that it was my single digit body fat that gave me my abs and not my ab training. Anyone can have six packs abs with the right plan. Find out what doesn’t work and how to get the elusive six pack.

Ab Exercises Don’t Make You Leaner

You can do crunches until the cows come home, develop unbelievable ab muscles, and then still never see them because they are still covered in fat. The first thing you need to know is that having a six pack is about having single digit body fat. Everyone has a set of abdominals, the biggest difference is that most of them are covered in layers of fat and never visible.

When people ask me for exercise tips for abs I tell them to first do a lot of core exercises that work their full body. When you do squats, deadlifts, pull ups, dips, and even pushups your body must stabilize itself with its abdominal muscles. If you workout regularly and you don’t use a weight belt then your abs will start to develop on their own through core stabilization.

The abs are one of the smallest muscles in the entire body so when you do an ab routine you really don’t end up burning many calories at all. Since seeing your abs is really more about leaning up it is imperative to do an exercise routine more conducive to incinerating that stubborn lower belly fat. Exercise tips for abs aren’t going to give you the six pack you would love to be sporting at the beach.

How to Get Ripped Abs

Getting a six pack with ultra ripped abs takes a multi tiered approach that combines an exceptional nutritional strategy along with an exercise plan designed to melt off fat. You need to eat plenty of food to avoid the metabolic shutdown that happens with most diet plans. Cutting calories too much will make it impossible to go from a four pack to a six pack. A plateau is all you will reach when you don’t eat enough.

Aside from eating enough food to keep a healthy metabolism you also need to follow an exercise plan that includes plenty of full body exercises. Isolation exercises limit your movement to 1 muscle and to truly bring your metabolism to sky high levels you need to work the entire body in multiple joint movements. The difference you see in fat loss is amazing once you switch to this type of training program.

I’m currently testing out a training program that puts all of these things together into 1 system. I’ve lost 11 pounds in the last 2 weeks and I have 10 more weeks to go. The only exercise tips for abs I’ll be using are the ones found in the book and they are more non conventional exercises that not only work abs but the rest of the body as well to burn more fat.
