Why A Hollister Models Diet And Exercise Routine Is Much Different Than Yours

Why is it that Hollister models who sport a good amount of muscle mass look much different than your average bodybuilder in gyms today? Could there be a reason why their muscles look more visually stunning than the average weight lifter or is it because of good genetics? Is it possible to be as slim and fit as these models? Many people wonder this but it is important to understand why a Hollister models diet and exercise routine is radically different than your average muscle building program.

Strategic Muscle Gains In All The Right Places

A muscle building program for a Hollister model is specifically designed to enhance certain areas of the body. This is done on purpose so that the overall appearance is visually stunning. They focus on addressing both sarcoplasmic muscle growth and myofibrillar hypertrophy in order to gain the proper muscle mass and density. The areas of the body that receive the most attention are the upper and inner chest, biceps, triceps, deltoids, and back. Adding muscle size and density in these areas can dramatically improve your appearance. But did you notice that traps and the lower body were not included?

Why Direct Leg Work Isn’t Needed

Hollister models do not have huge legs nor do they have protruding trap muscles. Building the trap muscles will hide the appearance of wide, angular, shoulders and will create a more rounded look. A thick upper back and neck is not desirable. It is very important for the upper body to resemble a “V.” This is why exercises like squats and dead lifts are typically avoided. Squats and dead lifts do a great job of adding mass to the hips, thighs, butt, and waist. You do not want excess mass in these areas of the body. Adding muscle to these areas will take away from the slim and angular “V” that the upper body carries. Don’t worry; you are not a “bodybuilding heretic” by skipping out on direct leg work. Having too much lower body mass can cause the models to have a hard time fitting into pants or jeans. Models need to be able to look hip, not big and bulky. Well defined legs don’t have to be large. HIIT cardio and a good diet will give you the right size and definition.

But What About Six Pack Abs?

Of course this is a given. You can’t be a good looking model without great abs. Hollister models obviously have this down to a science. Their abdominal muscles are not big and bulky, but are well defined. Planks do a great job of sculpting the midsection without adding bulk while hanging leg raises develop the “V” between the lower portion of the hips and abs. Having a slim and angular waist is extremely important for models. Even though planks and hanging leg raises are great abdominal exercises, did you know that the key to revealing your abs actually has nothing to do with abdominal exercises? Diet is the most important aspect of great looking abs. I don’t care what your trainer or gym buddy says about the best ab exercises if your diet isn’t in check. As long as you are consuming more calories than what you are burning you will continue to have stubborn body fat blurring your definition.

Diet Is Key For Whole Body Definition

Now that we have established that great abs is more about diet than anything, what about the rest of your body? Hollister models have very low body fat levels. This can be very difficult for people to achieve because they tend to underestimate how much food they actually consume in a day. If losing fat is the goal, everything you put into your mouth counts. Models do not eat like huge bodybuilders or the average gym rat. If you want to lose weight then you need to cut back on the junk and fill it up with high intensity interval training. Combining intermittent fasting and HIIT workout routines with your muscle building program will burn off that list bit of stubborn body fat in no time. Simply eating less with high intensity interval cardio will help you stay lean and stick to low body fat levels comparable to Hollister models.

Why Slightly Chubby Models Don’t Make The Cut

This is why a Hollister models diet and exercise routine is so specific, slightly chubby models will never be considered. Being “photo ready” is crucial for models. This is why they have to stay lean and mean all year round. Even though it takes much more discipline to stay slim and fit, it pays off in the photo shoot.

Is Bikram Yoga Safe For Knees After Surgery?

Knee surgery for a torn meniscus or entire knee replacement sometimes becomes imperative; its rehabilitation takes about seven to eight weeks; by that time any inflammation, redness or pain will be taken care of; as soon as you are able to put your weight on your affected leg without pain, you are ready for Bikram (hot) yoga. It is better to go slow in the beginning- right after the surgery- if there is any indication of redness, swelling or soreness, remember to ice it. Also avoid stretching or bending the leg too far. In Bikram yoga an hour and a half of performance of very challenging poses, in a room kept at 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity level at forty percent, produces profuse perspiration to relieve the body of all toxic wastes. It also increases the strength and elasticity in knees after surgery; and prevents injuries in future

Rewards of Bikram Yoga after Surgery

  • Strengthens inner and outer quadriceps
  • Strong inner, outer, upper and lower muscles support the weak knee
  • Increased blood flow and nutrients for the affected knee

Knee Protection while Performing Yoga

After knee surgery, one might want to return to one’s lifestyle quickly, it is important to do so with extreme caution. Adopting wrong poses or pushing beyond limits can further endanger your knees. To practice Bikram yoga as you are recuperating, keep the following in mind.

  • Keep your feet well placed and aligned. Push down through all four corners of your feet for most of the asanas. If your feet are not in the right position, your knees will be affected adversely.
  • Your knees should be in line with your ankles, not moving out over them. This is important especially for lunges and knee bends. The knee must be directing towards the middle toe. In standing extended-leg forward fold, remember to pull up on the arches of the feet.
  • Some postures in Bikram yoga require locking the knees, refrain from that after surgery; you may pull in the knee-caps to take up a pose. If you need to hyperextend your knees for a certain pose, do so by keeping the knees slightly bent in most standing and forward folding positions.
  • If your hips are not opened up or extended fully, your knees will have to bear extra pressure during most of the standing postures. You must open your hips early in a class to avoid putting this strain on your knees.

Bikram yoga practitioners who have gone through knee surgery must take extra care to perform certain poses. Hero’s pose if not performed rightly can pull at the knee-ligaments, while done properly, proves beneficial in healing the knees. In Triangle pose there is a risk of locking or hyper-extending your knees. In Seated-Forward Fold, bend your knees a little to avoid any further damage to your knee. To practice Child’s pose, put a blanket between your buttocks and calves to reduce strain on your affected knee. As this branch of yoga puts a great emphasis on patience, you must remember to be patient and allow enough time for your body to heal fully before you put it through a demanding regimen.

Types of Beauty Salons and Some Tips For Choosing the Right One For You

A lot of modern beauty salons today are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for doing practically anything you wish to be done with your hair from getting a perm to hair coloring, hair extensions, hair straightening, hair re-bonding, hot oil, and so on. Beauty salons also offer a wide range of beauty services aside from hair styling such as manicure, pedicure, facials, massage, hair removal, tanning services, and even full-scale spa treatments.

Types of beauty salons

There are different types of beauty salons and one way to categorize them is by price range: low, middle, and upscale. There are walk-in facilities that do not require an appointment and are usually lower priced than the upscale beauty salons. These types are usually homegrown neighborhood salons and are ideal for the person on-the-go who wants a simple trim or a basic haircut or a wash-and-wear hairstyle. These salons may be a bit limited in their equipment and offer only basic services. The second type-mid-range category-is usually a franchise of a national salon chain. These salons are reputable and are known by trademark throughout the country. For those who want a change of hairstyle but wants to be on the safe side, this is a safe bet because stylists in these salon chains usually undergo strict training and have to pass certain standards before they are allowed to cut and style hair. These types of salons usually offer a wide range of services and are equipped with the latest beauty salon technologies. Upscale boutique salons may also be homegrown or owned by an international or national chain. Naturally, they are pricier and usually have a swanky or hip address. A lot of five-star hotels offer upscale beauty salons where the patrons are in the upper-class range. These salons usually have hairdressers in landau scrubs and provide full-pampering treatments. So if you have the money to spare, it is also god to indulge yourself in these salons once or twice a year.

Beauty salon tips

Sticking with one stylist and beauty salon is ideal for most because developing a relationship with your stylist makes it easier to get things done right; and when it comes to beauty, you want to avoid any errors as much as possible. Choose a stylist that you are comfortable with and one who has a natural instinct for knowing what looks good on you. Hunting for the perfect stylist will also be a matter of budget and proximity. Remember, however, when it comes to your hairstyle, think of it as an investment. Don’t scrimp too much when choosing a beauty salon since the right hairstyle can do a lot to make you look gorgeous and a bad one can do a whole lot to wreak havoc to your appearance. Also remember that the best salons are usually already discovered by a lot of people. Word gets around fast when a beauty salon or stylist is worth taking note of. This means that salons or stylists that are worth it are usually booked weeks in advance so don’t put off getting an appointment until the last minute.

Cabbage Soup Diet – The 7 Advantages and 7 Disadvantages

The Cabbage Soup Diet is a typical example of “magical” food diets. It is primarily based on the claims that the cabbages have special fat-burning abilities, though not yet scientifically proven. There have been many different versions of this diet but the traditional cabbage soup diet allows you to eat as much cabbage as you want. However, no authority claims to be the originator of the cabbage-soup diet.

Basing on a simple 7-day diet, the cabbage soup diet is very restrictive. It is a low-fat, high-fiber, low-calorie diet, directed towards rapid weight loss.

The primary foods allowed throughout the diet include large quantities of cabbage soup (as much as possible, at least once a day), vegetables, fruit, and beef, but not all of these together, distributed day to day. Alcohol is particularly not allowed, only water and unsweetened fruit juices when suitable.

Like any other diet weight loss programs, the Cabbage Soup Diet also has its advantages and disadvantages that we should know.

The 7 Advantages of Cabbage Soup Diet

The advantages of this diet are as follows:

1. You loose more weight as you eat more cabbage.

2. You can eat as much as cabbage soup as you want throughout the diet.

3. Cabbage soup has high water content, and water has been a proven way to keep your self well hydrated at all times.

4. The diet is known to be high in fiber and less in calories compared to others.

5. Because of the soup’s composition, you will not be left feeling hungry.

6. This soup will not strip meat from your diet, since you will still be allowed to eat beef during the diet.

7. The diet only lasts for seven days.

The 7 Disadvantages of Cabbage Soup Diet

On the other hand, are a few disadvantages regarding the cabbage soup diet and they are as follows:

1. A reported side effect of this diet is that it is supposed to give a headache to those who undergo it.

2. The Cabbage Soup Diet is only effective for weight loss during the first week. It is not meant for a long term diet, that is why people who undergo the diet need to transfer to another diet regimen.

3. The diet restricts other types of drinks other than water or unsweetened juices. Curbing your cravings for alcohol, sodas and milky drinks may be difficult.

4. Instead of losing fat and water. The Cabbage Soup diet attacks your muscles and you end up losing precious muscle tissue.

5. Due to the restricted amount of calories, you may feel low energy levels throughout the diet.

6. Unlimited cabbage may not sound unappealing, especially to those who basically do not like cabbages.

7. The diet lacks the vitamins and minerals necessary for the preservation of a healthy body.

This diet is only a quick fix type of diet and should not be taken for more than the recommended duration. If you are looking to loose more weight than just the few pounds shed with the ‘Cabbage soup diet’, it is recommended that you seek the help of professional dietitians.

Why Energy Drinks Can Trigger Panic Attacks

Millions of Americans every day including teenagers and adults are getting all hyped up from energy drinks every day. It’s become a fad around the world and its hip and cool to drink energy drinks no matter what time of day. Kids and adults are not only drinking energy drinks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but they’re also drinking energy drinks at parties as well.

With kids, the higher the concentration of caffeine and other stimulants the more popular these drinks become. Unfortunately a lot of kids don’t realize that it can cause them to have panic attacks. For that matter, a lot of adults don’t know that either. They have no idea why they sometimes feel the way they do after drinking energy drinks.

They can start feeling exceedingly “amped up” with hot flashes that are ripping through their bodies caused by the adrenal gland secreting adrenaline throughout their body. They may start feeling a tightness in their chest and a choking sensation that they cannot breath correctly.

Their heart will begin racing abnormally high and may even skip a beat or two causing more fear to rip through their body and they don’t understand what’s happening to themselves. Panic attacks induced by energy drinks can also cause not only physical symptoms, but psychological symptoms as well. Feelings of unreality or an intense feeling of impending doom or death are quite common with panic attacks.

In fact emergency rooms across the world are flooded every day from people who have panic attacks induced by stimulants found in drinks such as energy drinks as well from certain drugs such as methamphetamines. For some people who drink energy drinks it never affects them, for other people they can be very susceptible and even trigger panic attacks after drinking something that has a high concentration of stimulants in them.

Energy drinks contain very high quantities of not only caffeine but other natural stimulants as well, that are known to cause or trigger panic attacks in children, teenagers, and adults. Energy drinks do not discriminate.

Boost Yoga and Meditation Efforts With an Air Purifier? Absolutely!

Meditation has been used for thousands of years for various purposes and continues to be a valuable tool for many. One issue with meditation (and yoga) that needs to be addressed in our modern times is that most that do meditate do so in their homes or another indoor space. That brings up the question of air quality and whether it’s helping or hindering your efforts associated with your meditation.

Why is air quality so important to meditation and yoga? There are several reasons, but one of the main reasons is that the deep breathing exercises cause us to inhale pollutants more deeply than usual–pollutants found in nearly every home such as chemicals, dust mites, bacteria, mold spores and more. And while the deep breathing is great for oxygenating the body, deeply inhaling pollutants and germs isn’t.

And that’s not the only issue. If you’re trying to meditate or do your yoga and someone in the home smokes, without a good air purifier running, you’ll be breathing those smoke pollutants, ash, tobacco pesticides, etc that aren’t good for you, either–more things to negatively affect your energy field, which is counterproductive. By using the right type of air purifier, however, you get a couple more great benefits. One is using the sound as something to focus on to help clear the mind. The other is the benefit of healthy negative OH- ions like those that are found in nature actually enhances the mediation experience.

Negative ions not only destroy airborne germs, but have also been shown in research to increase brain activity and contribute to a sense of well being, help reduce stress and more. So if you’re looking for a way to get more out of your meditation or yoga practice, breathing clean air can certainly help you do that–and help keep you from shooting your mental, physical and spiritual health in the foot by breathing germs and other pollutants. It makes no sense to work toward purification of body, mind and spirit while constantly adding pollution to our systems.

Do you have to choose an air cleaner that has negative ions? Certainly not. Cleaning up the air properly and using the sound to help with meditation and yoga is the main thing. A very good quality, affordable brand of air cleaner that does not release ions is the Austin Healthmate Plus series with quality HEPA, carbon and prefilters for real air purification. With these units, you also get 5 year filters and a 5 year warranty.

If you do want an air cleaner known for removing a large variety of pollutants (including smoke) while also providing the healthy negative ions, Blueair is an excellent brand. They offer good warranties, too, plus an air cleaner that is very quiet compared to others. Another great brand is Sun Pure TRIO with many of the same features, larger room coverage with one unit plus affordable pricing.

So give your mental, spiritual and physical health a boost by cleaning up your indoor air. Doing this has certainly worked wonders for me, and I think you’ll find it helpful also.
